Deha Industry is an environmentally focused, technology-driven heavy-industry facility that recovers zinc oxide from the steel industry's furnace dust.
Our Story
Deha Industry started investing in the recovery of zinc oxide from the waste of steel production facilities, known as electric arc furnace dust (EAFD). The company is located in the Incesu Organized Industrial Zone in Kayseri, Turkey. Among the leading facilities in the world with its technological investment and environmental awareness approach, Deha operates all production facilities on a 70,000 m² area. The investment was completed and production activities started in 2021. DEHA INDUSTRY takes its place among the important players of the sector with its 150,000 tons of EAFD processing and 50,000 tons of zinc oxide production capacity.
The production process follows in three units. First, the Waelz Oxide part consisting of a batch plant, a 64-meter length × 4.2-meter diameter rotary kiln, a dust settling chamber and a filter part. Second, the washing (leach) plant with leach tanks and double wash thickeners, a filter press and a water treatment unit. Third, the clinker process to separate lead from zinc in a 40-meter length × 3-meter diameter rotary kiln, a cooling zone and a bag filter part.
Milestones
Investment Start
Investment in zinc oxide recovery began on a 70,000 m² area in Kayseri Incesu OIZ.
Start of Production
The investment was completed and production began; the Waelz, Leach and Clinker processes were commissioned.
Zinc Ore Feedstock
Alongside furnace dust, zinc ore began to be processed as a feedstock, broadening the input range of the Waelz line.
Investment Continues
The environmental impact assessment (EIA) process is underway for the addition of an iron and stone-wool production facility; the report has passed commission review and been opened for public consultation.
