Production & Technology
From furnace dust to zinc oxide: an integrated three-stage recovery line made up of the Waelz, Leach and Clinker processes.
Process Flow
Each step is a link in the chain that turns waste into value.
- 01
EAFD Intake
Electric arc furnace dust (EAFD) from steel producers is received and stored at the facility.
- 02
Batch Plant
Furnace dust is prepared into a suitable batch and fed into the rotary kiln.
- 03
Waelz Rotary Kiln
64 m × 4.2 mZinc is volatilized at high temperature in the 64 m × 4.2 m rotary kiln.
- 04
Dust Settling & Filter
The volatilized zinc oxide dust is collected in the settling chamber and filter unit.
- 05
Leach / Washing
Impurities are removed with double thickeners, filter press and a water treatment unit.
- 06
Clinker Process
40 m × 3 mLead is separated from zinc in the 40 m × 3 m rotary kiln; cooling and a bag filter are applied.
- 07
ZnO Product
High-content zinc oxide is obtained as the final product and prepared for shipment.
