Waelz Slag

Waelz slag is the iron- and silicate-rich solid by-product remaining after zinc is volatilized in the Waelz rotary kiln process. After appropriate characterization it can be valorized as a secondary raw material in the cement and construction materials sectors, enabling recovery instead of disposal.
